First Visit

We look forward to meeting you on your first visit to our office.  During this time, we will help you get acquainted with our office.  In addition, we hope to begin to get to know you and learn about your chief concerns and your goals for orthodontic treatment.

Our initial consulation is free of charge because we do not want to set up any barriers to you exploring your orthodontic treatment options. Our patients and their families are very important to us! We give our patients “Star Treatment” and provide personalized attention and the time that it takes to create a healthy, enjoyable experience that will transform their appearance, confidence and ultimately, their lives.

Your First Appointment

Your first appointment will last approximately one and a half hours.  After completing the necessary patient forms, a member of our team will give you a tour of our facility and will take photographs and X-rays of your teeth and face.   One of our highly qualified Treatment Coordinators  will provide you with an orthodontic overview before introducing you to Dr. Robertson.  Dr. Robertson will perform an in-depth orthodontic exam and will review your photographs and records with you. She will explain your orthodontic needs, methods and length of treatment, and she will answer any questions that you or your family members may have.

Following your consultation with Dr. Robertson, the Treatment Coordinator will discuss the investment of your orthodontic treatment and the family friendly payment plans and financing options that we offer.  By the end of this first appointment you should have comprehensive information about your treatment options.

It is very important that all parties involved in the decision to begin orthodontic treatment be present at the initial consulation.  If you are a minor, it will be necessary for your parent or legal guardian to be present at your first and second appointment.

Your Second Appointment

This appointment is often combined with your first appointment in an effort to save our patients time and an extra trip back to our office.  At this appointment, diagnostic records (impressions) will be taken. These records are used for in-depth study of your orthodontic needs. Separating elastics are also placed at this appointment. Separating elastics prepare space between your teeth for future placement of orthodontic bands.

Pretreatment Observation & Interceptive Orthodontics

You may not be ready to begin full orthodontic treatment. If this is the case, we will periodically observe you free of charge to identify when your treatment should begin.
